Airtable extension

Common Approach’s Airtable extension is an easy way for social purpose organizations (SPOs) and social finance intermediaries (SFIs) to adopt the Common Impact Data Standard and create and share impact data capsules containing basic tier data. It is also an easy way to align with the Social Finance Fund companion module.

The Airtable extension requires a Team tier licence at Airtable, but there are no additional fees to use it. It was created by Common Approach to be used and shared freely. See the terms and conditions.

What can the extension do?

When imported into an Airtable base, the extension can import impact data capsules from users of the extension and other aligned tools (software or data utilities), and export impact data capsules that can be read by any aligned tools.

This makes impact data easier to share, removing the need to re-enter and re-format data for each recipient and saving time for those sending and receiving data. For specifications of the import and export capabilities, see the user guide.

What is the extension unable to do?

This extension is not intended to be an all-in-one impact measurement tool. It should be used in conjunction with other software for managing impact data. For more on suggested usage and compatibility, see the user guide.

How much does the extension cost?

The Airtable extension requires a Team tier license (or higher) to use Airtable extensions. As of October 2025, the Team account costs $24/seat/month USD, or $20/month billed annually. Nonprofit and educational organizations may apply to Airtable for a 50% monthly discount per user on Team plans.

If you use Common Approach’s referral link to create a Team account on the Airtable site, Common Approach will receive a $10 credit from Airtable. These credits help to support the ongoing development of Common Approach’s impact measurement standards.
